Conservation Districts work with landowners and other stakeholders to identify natural resource concerns in a District and create a plan to address said resource concerns. Scroll down to learn more about these efforts.

The ConserveAZ portal was devised by the Arizona Association of Conservation Districts in partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to support Arizona’s Conservation Districts with the development of Conservation Action Plans. District Supervisors and NRCS staff can now access a wide range of diverse data through this unique mapping portal to conduct resource needs assessments, identify resource priorities, track the progress of conservation practices, and develop conservation plans.

Technical resources include useful how-tos, fact sheets, and more to support users in their journey to creating a conservation action plan Whether it’s for an individual ranch or an entire District, conservation plans help to guide producers through their efforts to Conserve AZ and maintain and monitor practices once in place.

The Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry (CSAF) Mitigation Activities List for 2023 announced by the NRCS does not include Brush Management. But Brush Management is the number one conservation practice to address the number one resource concern on rangelands in Arizona and other southwestern states.
